Xiaomi had released MIUI 10 software update for some smartphones with the launch of Mi8 in the beginning of this year. The company had announced the names of some smartphones, including Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro, to get MIUI 10 global beta. Phone users on Xiaomi's MIUI allow phone users to switch from stable version to beta version and beta version to stable version. Apart from this, the new version could also be returned to the old beta version. But now the company has changed this policy for two popular handsets, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro.

According to the new anti-rollback policy issued by Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro users, who have upgraded MIUI 10 Global Beta 8.7.6, can no longer return to the old version. If they do this then they will risk their device. The company has said that if the phone has been upgraded with the MiUI 10 Global Beta 8.7.6, then it will be upgraded only in high version only through flashing roms. Redmi Note 5 and Radmi Note 5 Pro units running on the MIUI 10 Global Beta 8.7.5 can return to the old Rome package.

Xiaomi said that this change has been done to ensure the safety of the device and to maintain system stability. The company has said that once upgrading with MIUI 10 ROM 8.7.6 do not try to downgrade your Rome with the old Rome or Stable Rom. The company has said that if someone does this and there is a problem in the device, then take him to the nearest service center for help.
Xiaomi's new anti-rollback policy is exactly like Google. Google also applied an anti-rollback policy to all Nexus and Pixel users, where the updated device could not be downgraded with the old version.
